Don't give us this "we don't have 60 votes so they win with 41" bullshit any more. Expose these fuckers to the fucking light. When America sees this horse shit they will be all over them.

| 12. Exactly! I'm tired of hearing the b.s. that we can't tolerate a filibuster |
|
therefore, rather than let the reactionaries filibuster the Democrats throw in the towel!
Let the Republicans filibuster on every piece of progressive legislation they oppose. The public will grow tired of their disruption.
But don't use the scary, scary and ever so frightening threat of a filibuster as an excuse to drop progressive legislation!

| 27. Your Wrong: All filibusters end in one of five ways. |
|
1.Democratic leaders cave in at the mere threat of a filibuster and withdraw their bill.
2.Democratic leaders cave in almost immediately after a Senate filibuster actually starts and withdraw their bill.
3.Democratic leaders wait out a filibuster until the Republican Senator(s) end their speechmaking so they can proceed to an up and down vote on the bill.
4. Democratic leaders wait out a filibuster until they have 60 votes to end the filibuster.
5. When the Republicans control the Senate, the Democratic leaders give up their right to filibuster and approve all of Bush's presidential appointments and legislation that have the support of 50 Senators or more.
So tell me .... what's wrong with letting the Republicans filibuster .... if they want to tie up the Senate for a day or a week, let them! The right-wing filibustered against civil rights and other progressive legislation in the 1960's and Democrats didn't withdraw progressive bills simply because of filibusters. Every filibuster ends .... if that wasn't true, wouldn't the Senate be involved in a filibuster right now?
I just don't want to hear in 2009 the lame excuse repeated over and over and over again that the Senate can't enact progressive legislation because there aren't 60 Democratic Senators!
And I think that's what were being set-up for.

|
Shelby suggests that as a condition of supporting a bailout, millions (well, only hundreds of thousands, maybe) will lose theirs.
This is a non-starter.
The firing 60% of management part I rather like. In fact, let's make sure the auto workers and taxpayers own the big three. It's simply elitist to suggest after 30 years of mismanagement that assembly line workers with high school diplomas can't run a company better than Harvard MBAs and Ivy League lawyers.
Hey, you kind of car do want to drive to work? OK, build it!
