Consider that the right wing has demonized the word "liberal". Why not return the favor?

One reason we lose so many issues is that we let The Right frame the debate. It happens over and over and over again.

They made liberal a dirty word. Why should we practice unilateral disarmament and pay respect and give reverence to the word conservative in that context?

Consider how many Republicans say "oh sure Bush was a bad president, but that's because he wasn't a *true* conservative". If we lay off the word it allows them to get away with that bullshit to some unsuspecting people out there. I'd much prefer that Republicans have NO word of refuge to use to cover up the clear failures of their *conservative* policies and positions.

For example, massive tax cuts and deregulation, etc.
