I've grown to like her, she's articulate and smart. I'd probably disagree with her on many issues, but she reminds me of my moderate Republican friends who are young and intelligent as well.

1) Any enemy of Coultergeist is my friend.
2) She's attractive, has name recognition, and sounds reasonable as a repukelikon.
3) She implied Fox Noise's bias
That's enough for me. I want to see the pukelikons move toward her point of view, as far as I can see from this video. If the far right becomes marginalized as wingnut weirdos then we've done our job.

the extremists and noise machines of any ilk just block up the chance that we need to progress with honest dialogue. We don't have to always agree, but we can be civil and try to find common areas of agreement then build from those.

i don't think so as civilization as we know it spirals into darkness because of them... and the world itself is dying and they block every effort to save humanity from extinction... as we let them rewrite history again. nothing about them is valid..

I guess we should not even bother to try to talk folks willing to talk. Particularly those with which we disagree (isn't that the Bush approach to the "evil doers")

| 30. That is simply not the case Sam. There are many east coast Republicans |
|
that are much more moderate than some Southern Democrats (I'm a Southerner and I know my share of them). We have to find middle ground or we risk sounding (and being) like the neocons that fought for a single party for the US. The notion of a single party scares me even a Democratic single party system. It's that absolute power thing.
Also, it's a shame (maybe) that Meghan chose Coulter to go after. Ann will cut her off at the knees given the chance where a Hannity or an O'Reilly might not. Oh well, it will be interesting to watch - I'm rooting for Meghan.

To be fair it is touching to see how much she cares for her dad, as flawed a character as he is.

It's another sarah palin.
She comments on the economic situation, and then she turns around to say, I don't know much about economics. WTF?
She said a bunch of stupid and un-American crap last year.
The republican party is destroyed, and I proudly helped do it.

She kept repeating she's so pro-Republican, but then Rachel asks her one question on their spending freeze stance and she stammers she doesn't know much about economics? If she had even a basic knowledge of issues, she should be able to comment somewhat intelligently. You get the feeling that she thinks she has to be Republican because her parents are Republican, as though it's something you're born into and have to stick with for life. But she's attractive and uses the magic word "moderate" and is one of the few Republicans willing to come on Rachel's show, so people like her.

|
Blind faith in an ideology that's long been dead and gone. To win votes and appease their masters (aka Bush's base), they played to the agenda of the rabid "Moral Majority" and the rest is pretty much history. She may wish to "resurrect" that ideology but it's going on twenty years now, I'd say it's dead and gone.
The only question left for her party now is revival or rebranding?

And you're exactly right, she thinks she is picking up her daddy's tattered banner and soldiering on. Too bad she, much like her father, has NO idea what she's talking about. She's a spoiled, sheltered rich kid who's never had a real job. Pathetic.

"meet in the middle" so to speak, and sell herself as a moderate conservative. I can not take her seriously. She's not all that "articulate", in fact when questioned, I can't get the image of a vapid Miss America candidate out of my head. Very inane, and canned responses. Secondly, she's a Twitter obsessed socialite, and a raging narcissist to boot. Anyone that wants to blather on endlessly about their own life to anyone who will listen is too self-absorbed to be taken seriously. Speaks 100 words a second, and most of those words are "like". Why do so many young people speak so dumb now? Is it social retardation being manifested genetically in kids now? It's fucking stupid, and it shows a complete lack of intelligence. My 16 y.o. Stepdaughter doesn't punctuate every sentence with "like", but then again, she's an honors student working on a scholarship to Georgetown University.
Sadly what the republican party so desperately needs is an intelligent woman. Someone like, Rachel Maddow for instance. Unfortunately for them, no intelligent, self-respecting, well spoken woman would ever associate with republicans. It's just all lose-lose for them these days. I ain't buying this Megan McCain crap either...

| 19. Meghan McCain: Young Confederate Widow |
|
I admire Meghan McCain's hope and enthusiasm, even though I find less and less to admire about the current Republican Party each passing day. However, she reminds me of those young women who married Confederate veterans long after the Civil War who continued to apologize for 'the lost cause' long after their spouses' deaths. I suspect that the GOP might well be slowly falling into a death-spiral and that Meghan McCain's efforts to revive the Elephant Party will prove futile.
Sorry, kiddo, but that's how I feel.
