2. Granted, Evan Bayh has to run in Indiana...

not the easiest state for a Dem, and he remembers his liberal dad getting unseated in 1980, so it doesn't scandalize me that he'd trim some on issues relative to my fire-breathing left-wing bastard positions. But even so, organizing a caucus of recalcitrant Democrats in the Senate is a bit much. Rahm may need to set up a boot camp for these characters.

Saw Mark Begich, a member of that little caucus, on Rachel Maddow's show tonight, and he appeared to be hedging, doing that "What cookie crumbs on my chin? I ain't doin' nothin' wrong, mommy" thing. Well, he may also be smitten, and I can't fault him for that.
