This really excited me. I am so glad to hear this change in tone from the white house. The last admin sounded like they had troops on the border, awaiting the order to invade. What a refreshing change in discourse.

I had Iranian food for lunch today, and it was Delicious. Capital D. These Iranian folk aren't half bad!

9. Yeah, its all about the cultural exchange.

That's what I liked so much about this message, Obama really offered them hope, the idea that they are valued and have something to give, which is awesome. The truth is there has never been a winning scenario for Iran where they use a nuke, never. What they need is enough hope to actually go for a win, a real integration with the world as a respected and innovating member. Obama is bringing that out here, and I hope it will be heard: Its clearly good for Iran and good for us.

A FULL generation has passed since Reagan swapped the hostages for arms. It's about time America attempted to move on and be the shining light to the World they should be, and not just be dicks to everyone who doesn't bow to their nuclear power.

how would President Obama reach out to that other axis-of-evil'er, led by the poster boy for arrested development with illusions of godliness and an ego the size of a giant gas planet, "dear leader" in North Korea?

I believe Iranians will respond favorably to Obama's reaching out to them. Despite the fundamentalist rule, they're still able to think freely.

The real test of Pres. Obama's diplomatic skills will be his dealings with that other "axis-of-evil," North Korea, a nation-cult of brainwashed citizens led by a man who thinks he is a god. I cannot wrap my head around this: how the hell does one man, a nutjob, have so much control over millions of people? North Korea scares me more than any country in the world. Next to them, the Taliban are boy scouts.

This is what transformed a secular parliamentary government, back into a despotic monarchy. The next and inevitable step, was the current (anti-western) Islamic Republic. Obama will have a tough time with this. But unlike his (fill in the blank) predecessor, his feet are pointed iun the RIGHT direction!
