| 1. Movie Man said this is his last week to stream |
|
next new show will be on April 24, and there will be a place to download it.
I liked this format much better. It was wonderful to hear what people had to say without some token right winger going yap yap yap yap over them.
Anyone who missed it needs to see Vidal, he was wonderful.

I don't watch Real Time to spend ten minutes learning about a celebrity's new project. This was lame and it's sad that Maher changed format to do a publicity campaign for Angels and Demons.

Gore Vidal is still one of the most handsome men I've ever seen. And he's funny, too. :)

been just me, but I thought the "new rules" where even kind of suckie too. Seemed like they just threw them together as an after thought, no umph to them. Nope, I'll be able to save some money if he stays this way. I'll cancel HBO.

Though I wouldve really liked to listen to Vidal for the whole hour!!! Another person I would love to see Maher interview for the whole hour Is Rusdie.
Ron Howard was excellent but if I had a choice Its Vidal all the way!

| 11. Revenge of Howard Beale |
|
First a half-hour interview with Ron Howard followed by the same with Gore Vidal.
If I want to watch this format I will tune to Tavis Smiley or Charlie Rose. The old format is a winner and the new format is a loser with a capital “L”.
Even the New Rules segment at the end of the Howard interview sounded and looked like it was written by a new and vastly inferior staff.
Yes Bill, keep this format and go the way of Howard Beale when he became serious and un-animated.

I don't think it was anything like Rose or any other talk show hosts--for a start they don't have the language restrictions--and secondly I love Bill Maher in whatever format he appears.
I don't always agree with him and often think he's not liberal enough on some issues--and I really can't fathom his morbid interest in Mann Coulter.
I think everybody who appears on TV has some kind of product to sell--usually themselves--why else would they appear in the first place?
Gore Vidal is a national treasure and I thought Ron Howard was very funny and likable.
Anyway I already wrote about it last night--so I'll stop here.

I like Bill Maher, but he is not the best of interviewers. I think the panel discussion works well because it keeps the energy level up without him having to do the heavy lifting, so to speak.
I did not see the word "Live" in the upper left corner as I usually do. Is the reason for the new/experimental format perhaps because the show was recorded?

| 14. This format sucked as does Bill Maher |
|
The only reason the show ever worked is because you got some argument and ideas with the different sides on the show. As for Maher, he's not funny, most his jokes are sexist and lame. The fact that he thought "Godfather 3" was every bit as good as 1 and 2 tells me all I need to know about Bill Maher, he's a libertarian that's more wrapped up in his own ego than what's good for the country. I still remember when Ann Coulter was his best Friend forever, don't get me wrong the panels are great on the show, I just think Maher made his bones by ripping off Bill Hicks, he's not funny!
