And all the people we have in prisons, we tortured under a Bronze Age thinking President, and we could care less about the poor and disabled...HELL YEAH WE ARE CHRISTIAN NATION!!
At least those responsible for what I just mentioned are hard core Christians!
Religion is really cool to read and study until you realize people actually believe it is real! Then you want to VOMIT!

|
especially in regard to having the right to practice their religion--doesn't say anything very good about Christianity. And it belies the right winger's contention that Christianity as a state religion is tolerant of other faiths.

slavery and selling your daughter.
But I think they should bring back stoning for those sinners that wear two different types of cloth.

Oh wait... Christians get to pick and choose what is Hellworthy and what isn't a big deal. Never mind that the bible doesn't ever really address abortion in a meaningful fashion.

| 4. I am not a Christian, and I do not want their right-wing christianity placed upon or around me. |
|
I do not respect their type of christianity, which is about domination of the opposition, telling those who disagree with them that we are going to hell, and all sorts of other hateful acts by the so-called christians. I wish we would take In God We Trust off of the Money. Though I believe in G-d, My universal Cosmic concept of deity is not connected to their biblioltric version of god. The right-wing christians want to bang us into submission with their bibles.

In 1994 a poll was done that said 41% of Americans thought evolution was a lie...Fast forward through to 2009 and that number is now 63%!
This is flat out SCARY!
Those who think religion in America is harmless need to wake-up! That goes for the so-called moderate Christians...I do not believe that it is possible to be a moderate Christian. You either believe in Zombie Ghost or you don't. You either believe children played with dinosaurs 6000yrs ago or you don't.
One can respect and try to follow certain teachings of Jesus but why label yourself a Christian? You just empower the Bronze Age knuckle draggin freaks into thinking their numbers are more than they should be!!!!

| 7. We do not have religious freedom because we are a "Chrsitian" nation |
|
that lady doesn't know history. Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay Colonies were founded by Puritans, and they exiled and persecuted those who didn't agree with their ideological line. It was because of the excesses of these two colonies, I think, that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution don't talk of Christianity, but rather on broad terms about God.
As a Muslim, I am offended that that woman thinks "In God We Trust" refers to a Christian god. Islam's basic tenant is that there is only one God. She's probably so stupid she thinks "Allah" is a special term for some sort of Islamic idol god or something like that, rather than realizing "Allah" is Arabic for "God".

I think the US is a Christian Nation. however We don't act like a Christian nation. We shouldn't push our religion on others. Already tried that stunt on the Native Americans and it's sill a thorn in our side. The Government has taken this anti religion thing a bit too far. It should be all inclusive. Some nut puts the ten commandments in a courtroom, I think all the other religions should be represented in the same manner. I dislike the government taking the side of the athiest religion all the time. Agnostics would be the proper theme there. Govt still has that Seperation of church and state, and banning religion is the wrong way to go.
I'd consider myself Lutheran (more like WELS) but I'm someone who would be all inclusive. I'd like to learn and get along with other religions. Oddly enough my uncle who was methodist I think married a Jew in the early 80's so all inclusive runs in the family (except dad) She's not a practicing Jew, but one goes to their house and you'll find stuff up that line. (nice house) Atheists come off (many of them ,but not all. know some very nice ones too) rather vulgar and dripping with some form of hate. I'm not here to judge them, why should they judge me if I'm a Christian. And I'd be guessing the Repukes wouldn't consider me a Christian anyway... since I have no problem with nudity. Although if they have no problem with violence... whats worse?

have picture after picture of Bush, holding hands, dancing with, kissing, for god's sake, all of those Saudi rulers. One little bow, and you, as they say, you fuck one goat....you become known as a------. I can not believe that Faux Noise will not let this go. I think they have waited 8 long years noting every criticism of Bush, and could not wait to spring back with an in-kind insult. Only it's ridiculous. We had reason, these lunatics are copycats without any merit. They just want revenge for Bush being such an easy target. Truth is he was a lorknozzle fuckup. It doesn't translate. Go back to the American Enterprise Institute, for some new marching orders, won't ya?

|
Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 02:58 PM by 20score
Because even though the Constitution says nothing about God, (or hair for that matter) most people in the U.S. are Christians and browned haired.
Even our founders... oh wait, they wore powdered wigs.
Okay, we're a powdered wig nation!

| 17. "Christian nation"? No thanks! |
|
The idea that the United States of America is anything but a secular representative republic is laughable and demonstrably wrong...however, the right wing and all of those who gladly carry the water for them in exchange for their souls do not bother to let little things like facts and reality get in their way.
I say let the "moran" brigade keep talking...the more they speak, the less thier chances become of ever again gaining congressional majorities or the presidency within my lifetime - and that is a good thing for posterity!
