| 1. The difference is, Obama knows that Ortega is right. |
|
He knows what Reagan did to him and to Nicaragua.
As Chavez said today, we have an opportunity here right now, let's not waste it. He said that and he said he'd use his very best good will to make sure this opportunity isn't wasted. That will never be reported here.
I admire these two men for fighting off the bullshit long enough to connect in service of their people. Well done.

| 3. Stomping out of the room would have been proof the U.S. intends to keep up the bullying. |

Acting pompous, insulted, high-handed when every country in the world is keenly aware how UNDERHANDED, and DIRTY, and MURDEROUS U.S. covert ops have been in Latin America for decades. They aren't in the dark about their own histories, WE ARE.
Of course, flouncing out of the room like a prissy Aunt Fannie would have antagonized, and disgusted Latin American leaders and acted as a signal they are well advised to get down to business creating the new solidarity, New World, and forget about working with the U.S.
By not being reactionary, and making an ass of himself as Bush would have, he showed he is strong, and decent. He passed the test. Of course, this will serve as fodder for the psychos among us until the next situation arises they can attack. They're just going to have to grow up. That has never been asked of them, has it?

It takes courage to face the well deserved wrath of most of the world. We've seen enough of cowards in chief for whom the slightest political breeze suffices to blow them off their principles.
For this I have a lot of confidence in the man. For Wall Street in the cabinet I'd like more convincing.

Why didn't he stamp his foot and run from the room? Because he's not a privilaged, dry drunk, fake cowboy, that's why.

| 6. What a ridiculous question. |

I guess that 8 years with an adolescent president has led to more and more people thinking that adolescent actions like walking out of meetings are the way to do business. Of course, they seem to ignore the destruction of those actions.
Thank you, Mr. Obama, for being an adult in the presidency.
