| 6. The tea party movement is a pile of stinking, steaming hypocrisy |
|
The right-wing talk radio, conservative Fox News, red blog spin on things is the tea party movement is the grass roots silent majority standing up for themselves. It's totally non-partisan with both parties in the cross hairs.
What a lie!
Huffington Post has pictures of the most offensive posters seen at the tea parties and guess who's the target? Yep, Barack Obama. He's portrayed as Hitler, he's slitting Uncle Sam's throat, etc. These highly partisan signs draw no crowd ire.
However, get up and point some fingers at George Bush and get booed off the podium.
While there's a broad range of folks, including many fringe whackos, in attendance the basic theme is the standard far-right Republican economic Darwinism and Bible based social agenda. Since their economic agenda is anti-government, anti-regulation they pretend to be Libertarians but their social agenda proves that to be a complete lie.
The tea party movement is nothing but the far right of the Republican Party represented by talk radio pundits, Fox News, and the red blogs trying to seize the mindshare of the Republican Party. Nothing more. Nothing less.
