| 8. We don't want "Show Trials Mr. Bond. We want Criminal convictions for the monsters. |
|
I can appreciate why you would like to spin this demand for justice as "Show Trials", and I appreciate that John McCain is concerned about "Witch Hunts" and trials that last more than a year, but as I recall, individual in Guantanamo Bay were held for SEVEN FUCKING YEARS and then released without being charged. If they were just held, then maybe you could pay them off, but we know they've been TORTURED repeatedly, as if incarceration was not enough.
You fascist mouthpieces have a lot of nerve, and are lucky to not be imprisoned for your lies.
Their may be a lot of stupid, obedient sheep in America, but the Republicans have awakened a sleeping giant in the form of the peace loving majority that stands for values and standards the USA used to stand for. We did our homework, and are well prepared to gut your opinion shaping strawman arguments like a fish. We will never again allow political hacks like you to claim fto speak for us.

This is almost funny! I think we just got rid of a banana republic government. Torture is illegal and wrong. Who was running the Banana Republic?????? These guys have no sense of right and wrong and don't care if they lie to your face when they know it is a lie.

| 10. Bush Made It a Banana Republic |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 03:45 PM by jeremyfive
Bush and his cronies turned the might USA into a groveling banana republic scorned by the world for his vile policies. (Jeb did the same thing in Florida with his cronies, especially in the voting process.)
I agree with McCain that there are better things to do--however, that is simply an argument for an independent prosecutor. Bush should have been impeached because his criminal activities were known at the time, if not the full extend of them. And the right-wingers impeached Clinton???
Bush, Cheney, Rice, crooks all. Monstrous. They were of such weak character that, having shown wanton disregard of the warning signs of 911, that in the aftermath their personal fear moved them to lash out with illegal torture tactics. Has America every fallen so low?
I am fascinated by the character of Ashcroft--this simple baby-man laying claims to Christianity (don't they all?) who was so offended by the appendenges of the nude statues in the Capital that he had to cover them up. . . however, he did not hesitate to move forward with monstrous and illegal torture practices.
Are these right-wing horror-shows screwy or WHAT???

|
No, administering torture made us like a banana republic.
Prosecuting the war criminals who approved, ordered and justified it will have a cleansing effect.

| 16. Only in Banana Republics do regimes torture prisoners. |
|
Govern the U.S. like a Banana Republic and, yes, you can find yourself prosecuted. This is not a political matter. It appears that real crimes were committed. People died in the hands of U.S. agents of the Bush administration -- from torture -- and not in the course of combat.
That's homicide. (I have heard that reports state that the military characterized some of the deaths as homicide.) That's a violation of U.S. and international law.
Bush and Cheney turned the U.S. into a Banana Republic. If we are to regain our stature as a nation of laws, if we are to regain respect the respect of other nations, we must prosecute those who were responsible for these crimes. There really isn't any other choice.
If we don't do it, another president will come along who will torture more blatantly. That's what happened in the USSR, in Eastern Germany, in NAZI Germany, everywhere where torture is practiced. It all starts on a modest scale and escalates until torture becomes commonplace.

love for us to live like a a Banana Republic, where we workers are all uneducated slaves with no rights, and all undisputed power only to the republicans, corporations & the wealthy!
(The republicans love & adore right-wing puppets they can prop-up & support the dictatorships in Banana Republics).

| 19. They love their catch phrases... |
|
that work so well in sound bites targeted towards their base, which often times seems to lack any critical thinking skills. Sadly, they also often seem clueless as to the real meaning of those same catch phrases. I sometimes have to wonder if these people can really be as uninformed as they come across, and if they are, how they ever became successful business people, much less elected officials. Thank God that we will soon (though not soon enough) be rid of Kit (always looks like a drunk) Bond. But I guess then he'll be making millions as a lobbyist. I do so despise that SOB from my home state. And John, if you had been elected, I suspect regarding torture, we would be acting EXACTLY like you would expect a banana republic to act.
