That's the problem; they think that the idea of "nothing to fight for anymore" is in someway new. What they don't realize is that, throughout time, there was always "nothing to fight for anymore"; whether it was, independence, ending slavery, ending segregation, clean food and water, exploitation of workers and children, helping citizens get a college education,...

Now the same type of people (aptly named throughout history until present day as CONSERVATIVE) are using the same tactics with Universal Health Care, Gay Marriage, Environmental standards, bottom-up economics, and Regulation, Oversight, and Transparency.
