I went back last summer to bury my father and my extended family was there, after the burial we went to one of their houses and I was completely shocked at some of the things they were saying (in retrospect I shouldn't have been shocked at all). I have never heard the N-word so many times in a half hour period. The referred to the "cheap seats" in Tiger Stadium as the "coon section" and other things that I am embarassed to repeat because this is my family. I moved to Chicago when I was 14 so thank god I was saved from a life of this kind of thing. I told my mother after the incident that I will never go visit these people ever again and I will only go to the state of Louisiana to visit my father's grave. All those that think we live in a post-racial nation should go visit central Louisiana for a day. The "joke" that many there tell is that "we still have slaves, they just get paid a little better now, and we don't get beat them as much". Yeah it is still very much a part of our country and it is sickening to see first hand.

Winston-Salem isn't even IN her district. Its suburbs and outlying rural areas are in the 5th, but not the city itself (and its African-American population). There is no large city in the district. It's mostly rural, with a lot of small towns thrown in. Foxx is from Watauga County (in the extreme western part of the district) and she has LOST in Watauga in the last two elections. We are TRYING to get rid of her, but the deck is stacked against us. If Winston-Salem was actually in her district, she would be singing a different tune!
