6. Michael Brown is a good guy. I'm not gonna rip on him.

Bush scapegoated him. It does disappointment he goes after the lady that just got confirmed. The UN is spreading more panic than her office is.

He's got some valid points. It's an overreaction. I've seen more serious concern over meningitis than this H1N1 flu. I've taken stuff for meningtitis once back in 1995-1996 sometime. Whatever it was, gave everyone orange piss. :P Biden's plane comment was misplaced, but it shows the general concern over it spreading, but there's a panic there too. I get into a group list fight over some right wing fruit (it's a list for discussing movies) who thinks this is the movie The Stand come true.

So I agree with him that everyone doesn't want another Katrina to happen. But is that a bad or good thing. Thats up for debate, but I'll take his debate alot better than trying to manipulate the stupid teabaggers that fox news sponsored.

If Brown was such a "good guy" he should have been honest about the fact that he was woefully under qualified to head FEMA, and as such he would have passed the position and remain judging Arabian horses or whatever the f*ck this dolt was doing.

A "good guy" should have taken more seriously the responsibilities associated with his position, he should have understood that his competence or lack thereof would affect people's lives.

I fail to see what "good" there is about this guy. Regardless of the scapegoating he is directly responsible for the plight of untold people in the Gulf Coast. He can afford to make a career to talk crap on national TeeVee without much in the way of qualifications. A lot of the Katrina victims are not even lucky enough to be alive.

This is a serious matter, this virus is still on going. For any person to say anything about over reaction at this point is incredibly irresponsible, so it makes sense that Brown is first in line opening his trap, as he would not know responsibility if it bite him in his kisser.

He is not a "good guy" who was caught up in a political scapegoating. He was a political appointee who was not qualified for a position in which he was in charge of people's lives. If somebody told me that they could get me a high paying job as a surgeon, I would turn it down.

In any case, he should shut his pie hole (love that expression) unless he wants to be reminded about just how unqualified he was in one of America's worst disasters. Furthermore, he might be regretting criticizing anybody for over reacting. This may turn out to be bad. Personally, I don't think it will, but there is a possibility.

"In the midst of the overwhelming damage caused by the hurricane and enormous problems faced by FEMA, Mr. Brown found time to exchange e-mails about superfluous topics," including "problems finding a dog-sitter," Melancon said.

Melancon said that on August 26, just days before Katrina made landfall, Brown e-mailed his press secretary, Sharon Worthy, about his attire, asking: "Tie or not for tonight? Button-down blue shirt?"

What's with the people who argue that there's only 1 US death and therefore we shouldn't overreact.

Can't they recognize a potential emerging trend? It seems like some folks lack the ability to project into the future, and base their conclusions only what they see right now. Flawed thinking, IMHO.

Indeed this is what Governments are for. If someone wants to panic, okay go ahead. I've got panic disorder, this isn't one of those I'm worried about. I've got acid reflux and I have a better chance choking on food (with a swollen esophagus )than I do with this flu. Happened about 90 minutes after I woke up today actually. Simple sausage wouldn't f**king go down. There's just so many other things to die of and H1N1 (trying to call it something other than swine) isn't really high up on the list. I still think the UN jumped the gun a bit. My parents are off to California Sat-Wed via a plane and all this panic talk has me concerned, but not panicked.
