Nothing wrong with being gay, and Lincoln deserved all the fun he could find, but I can't be the only one whose gaydar has been a'twitterin' lo these 7 ghastly years.

That could be an argument for or against his orientation (if you buy into the stereotype)

America will be a truly open society when an openly gay person can run for president and his/her orientation is not an issue. I hope I see that in my lifetime.

While I can accept the possibility that an openly gay man or woman may be president some day, I can't see it not being an issue within the next several decades. The hatred just runs too deep.

But let's hope your hopes are realized.
