He kept alleging MM was "playing fast and loose with the truth." MM is known for his scrupulous documentation. They try--they really try--to find errors in his work but they never find legitimate ones. In this report they came up with some figure that was off a bit but it was hardly anything to report on. The small difference could easily be accounted for by different methods of approaching how to do the figures.

So as I was watching it, I was getting angrier and angrier because of their ridiculous, outright lies. That is why it was so satisfying to see MM kick Wolf's ass up one side of the aisle and down the other.

Moore had nothing to say--nothing!--when MM asked why they did not do their job in the run up to the Iraq occupation.

Thank you for Sicko and your attack on tv media. They certainly fell down on the job ...uhm no ...they did what they did on purpose because they, like the HMO's are a for profit business. It just so happens that big pharma is their biggest client. So we have the same problem with them as we do with the HMO's. Remember Play House 90? Remember Rod Sterling? He wrote much of what was aired on the show back then and because what he wrote made big business uncomfortable they stopped advertising on the show. The show died. That was the first big lesson for network tv which was that you can't use free artistic expression because you will lose advertisement revenue. So they didn't want to go up against the start of the war because they would have lost advertisement revenue. You were right on the verge of bringing this out on on CNN today. Who knows who of the tv and radio networks' CEO's, owners and controller/managers have investments in military industrial companies? So we don't get the truth from the media because they are a for profit entity. We need free health care and free truthful public media tv and radio outlets. Be strong and please continue the fight. I loved in several different European countries and was there for many years. I just walked into my doctor's office and saw the doctor if I really needed to. The wait was never a problem. I would make an appointment for routine check-ups. I had two children, great pre- and postnatal care. It was just wonderful. You pay for the healthcare in a general way, but you don't pay for specific healthcare. That makes it much easier to make yourself go to the doctor. I can't say enough good things about single payer insurance. And no, the only time I heard anyone complain about the health care system was when they introduced a nominal, very, very low-cost co-pay for prescriptions. The co-pay was almost nothing. People wanted to continue to get their medications for no co-pay at all. Other than that, neither my husband nor I ever heard a complaint or ever complained about access to health care or the health care system. It was just wonderful. And we had very little money and small children. I recommend single payer healthcare.

Sitting for 10 or more hours in an ER with my chronically ill son who couldn't get any help because he didn't have any children to put him on welfare for a year and half and begging to get him the care he needed which almost caused him to end his life is not GOOD health care damn it! He didn't have health insurance because he had lost his business during the 3 hurricanes that went through our area in 2004 and FEMA didn't give him a dime.

Documentaries exposing brutal realities were always supposed to belong to a dark niche for certain societal elements who have little clout in elections or other consumer related industries. Many many books have come out in the vast wasteland that is now most of American journalism- not just the blighted promise of corporate TV. Several pundits are tolerated to speak the truth and do their job only in the guise of balanced discussion with propped up lies.

The difference here is that Moore's documentaries have broken into the mainstream. The difference is that
millions will tank up their cars for the oil pirates and even see the demon they have been taught to ridicule and despise, shell out more money and watch the News on the big screen. The difference is that Moore did not have to rely on industry sources at this point because the groaning weight of ignored reality was easy to judge by the results on the ordinary people- who were flocking to see what so easily could have been trumpeted by American Journalism- had we any worth anything regarding public and professional service to their fellow Americans.

The difference is that anyone watching reality exposed by their fellow sufferer comes out infuriated to action and enlightened(not slander darkened) resolve. The difference is that a peripheral common joe documentary maker who might seem to resemble the TV incarnation of the MM who was invited to clown around on TV where he could be contained, co-opted and actually a money maker for the media- that this scruffy outlier- has scooped up the gold of truth lying in media gutters.

The big story behind the health care story which is sending the corporate propagandists scurrying in a panic is that the fundamental lie of American journalism is- once again- fundamentally exposed and open to mockery and ruin for its owners and sponsors. That the only response to the inconvenient truth again breaking out from the Electronic Curtain of white noise and mind numbing anti-news is bigger lies, attempts at silence wedded to sorry spin, and hoping that this time no one will notice there is no public news unless you go and find it yourself- outside the private controlled public airways and chain
rag newspapers and moronic radio aping of rational discourse.

They have to interview him, Have to report on the millions going to see the movie- albeit in twisted, calculating ways most similar to the treatment of public war protests and impeachment demands.

But they don't have to let people easily see the huge story that in American Journalism, most of the stories that tyrannize public ignorance are corporate fairy tales for which any branch of Corporate Pravda must fall under the juggernaut of financial failure and public anger to keep the barbarous tide of truth and humanity away from the oh so few gilded gates. Fight for your jobs American journalists, but avoid at all costs joining the front ranks of simple truths.
