| 1. Well I for one thought it was a good statement. He sounded pissed and serious - |
and I believe that he's committed to buckling down on our security, such as it is.

| 4. I saw a 'new' model that used a stylized body -- not the actual body of the |
person being scanned. I wouldn't object to that. But like Obama said, "they" keep coming up with new ways, and we keep scurrying to get something in place that addresses the attempt just made. It's almost futile. And, I think I read where the scanner wouldn't have detected the powder anyway, so why bother?

| 5. And how to make these scanners safe? |
It isn't very healthy to have one's body exposed to those waves on a consistent basis...Some people fly every week... Not to mention the TSA being exposed perpetually. It's just bad all around! There is definitely a line of privacy here that we should not cross.

| 6. They claim it's safe but I never believe those claims. So was DDT and asbestos. |
Pragmatically, I just don't know what they could hope to discover if those scanners wouldn't have picked up the powder in the guy's shorts. A gun would set off the metal detector, and I'm assuming a box cutter would, too? Rubber knives, maybe?
