He melted down long ago and he will continue to melt down, about the only thing left to him is violence and suicide. Someday Murdoch and Fox News will have to answer for broadcasting his illness in real time.

And I love Tom Waits music.

The diagrams Beckerhead draws on his board remind me of the loopy chalk talks that televangelist Dr. Gene Scott used to do - when he wasn't just sitting and asking people to send money. I worked at a cable TV outlet during the 1980's, which gave me a chance to 'watch' some of the televangelists with the sound off. Gene Scott was a trip! I would look up at the monitor for his broadcast, and he would be holding a copy of some whacko book like Charles Berlitz's book on the Bermuda Triangle.

The fun part came when he wouldn't pay his bill, which was pretty frequent. I'd get instruction to take him off; then, at 11:00 or 12:00, we'd get a call - in the control room - complaining that we'd taken him off. Of course, I didn't have the authority to put him back on; but, I was never able to convince his brain-dead minions of that!
