I assume you realize that being booed in a large labor forum will raise her numbers 5-7% in the mainstream population.

Most American workers would prefer to have labor protection. That is an undeniable fact. Additionally since most democrats I know happen to actually like the idea of organized labor I really don't think this is going to add jack to Hillary's numbers, in fact I would have to say that it is likely that it might dampen her numbers a bit.

| 4. She was absolutely right on this issue |
|
She was basically making the same point to Obama, that the State Department made to Tom Tancredo recently, after he made the comment about he would bomb all the Muslim holy sites.
When you are President and are trying to build alliances around the world, you don't just go shooting from the hip. You don't open mouth; insert foot.
That's the point that Hillary made tonight, and I thought she was right.

the Tancredo position and the Obama position couldn't be more different. To call for bombing all Muslim holy sites is not only irresponsible, but wrongly conflates all of Islam as one monolithic "enemy." It shows a huge misunderstanding of what the terrorist threat is and incites hatred.
Obama's remarks were aimed at bin Laden and Al Qaeda--the perpetrators of 9/11, who are known to be holed up in a specific part of northwest Pakistan. Last election cycle, we Democrats were all over Bush for not going after bin Laden in Afganistan first, and in Pakistan second, preferring as he did to bomb on Iraq. So why are we saying that's a bad idea now? A surgical strike based on actionable intelligence aimed at a group that actually DID attack the US is completely within international law. Clinton tried to strike bin Laden several times before 9/11, and it was only the Republicans that chided him. Are we siding with the Republicans now?
Hillary lost the point with the audience when she scolded and said candidates "ought not to speak about such things" (she didn't actually deny the substance of his remarks). His retort that we indeed ought to be discussing these things with the American public was well received by the audience.

| 5. She got booed exactly once--for criticizing Obama |
|
She also got more big applause than any of the candidates, perhaps with the exception of Kucinich.
Other candidates got booed tonight, too: when they didn't use their brief time to answer the live-audience questioners but instead took the time to pontificate on something they wanted to talk about (something Clinton was sensitive to and focused in like a laser beam). And those boos were well deserved: we can't have Democrats telling us that the people are more important than the Washington insiders, and then when the people get a few paltry minutes to finally ask a question are ignored in favor of soundbites.
In the end, despite that boo for dissing the homey, it looked to me like Clinton was tremendously well received by this crowd. I'm not a Clinton supporter, but her knowledge, specificity, and clarity never fail to impress me.

One would think after Iraq, people wouldn't rally around bully talk, especially against a nuclear power that is an ally.
Iraq had 26 million citizens, while Pakistan has 167 million.

I dunno it didn't even seem like much of a boo, just a lot of chatter. I only saw this video... I didn't see the actual thing.

Few of us can turn over a double play as well as Jeeter or Wills; few of us can fan as many hitters as Marichal and Koufax; and few of us can speak on our feet with conviction and persuasion like Senator Clinton and our other Democratic candidates.
I wasn't there at this event but I believe that candidates for public office are owed the respect from all participants in the process -- fellow candidates, voters, the media, and so forth.
