| 6. Quit Enabling the Boogyman! |
|
Am I the only person in this universe who believes Osama Bin Laden is dead? Why are all you otherwise clear-thinking, logical individudals buying into him still being alive? You do understand that manipulating the populace is all about fear, and that fear is most effectively centered around a boogyman, right? True, we have few hard facts on the subject, but Occam's Razor can apply here. Let's review the circumstantial evidence, things I've read over the years:
(1) Supposedly the CIA purchased the equipment their using to validate Osama's tapes from a Swiss company. That same company made a statement saying that they even though they are the experts in the use of same equipment, they can't tell with 100% accuracy if the tapes are legit, but the evidence points towards them being pre-recorded in the past, nor can they validate Osama's voice. If the guys who made the equipment can't tell, how can the CIA be so sure of their analysis? (2) It is established as fact that the guy had a pre-recorded tape library, set to cover a variety of subjects. (3) His beard keeps changing color, from black to grey, then back to black, then there was a grey tape, now we have his beard back to black. WTF? (4) How about those rumors of serious health problems, including his need for daily dialysis? (5) Our strategy in Tora Bora was to collapse the mountains over the cave entrances, trapping the Taliban in their holes. How can we be sure he's not still buried? We base our belief that he escaped Tora Bora on the word of our enemies?
Woof!

| 3. of the many things about this that shock me |

one of the worst is the Israeli alibi: that they felt they had to search the ships for munitions. The flotilla had 600 high-minded activists on board. They would never have stood for their participation being used as a front. The sheer contempt the Israelis showed for the judgment and ethics of the activists is one of the worst things about this. That attempt to utterly humiliate and degrade the enemy is all too familiar from history, and also it is very typical right wing behavior -- it's like the American right wing denying climate change and evolution, even though both are established facts. Or Holocaust denial for that matter. When a regime starts behaving that way, it truly departs from the community of nations.

ship were, they KNEW what was on the ships, too. They'd been inspected at every port along the way, there were even independent inspectors hired who sent reports to Israel every time it had been inspected. They knew exactly what was on those ships, that they claimed they were afraid there might be munitions or weapons of any kind simply isn't true.
