...are in reach of their cities already. I believe they are flexing their muscle because they see the degraded state of our military and are signaling a return to a strategic alliance. China wants Taiwan; perhaps Russia would like some of Central Asia and Eastern Europe back.

That is what this is about. They are flexing their muscle as we flex ours against Iran. You can bet that both of those two countries would align themselves to oppose the United States, should we be stupid or insane enough to do so.
Yes, China wants Taiwan, and they will get it, most likely peacefully when the time comes. However, their concern is preventing U.S. control of Iran and that region in general. It is absolutely vital to their growth and they will not let us have it. Russia is coming off from being looted by European and American interests and China is having its own industrial revolution. Control over Central Asia is why we see China, Russia, and others, participating in war games. They are sending us a clear signal that this isn't going to just be like Iraq. This is a fight for the remaining sources of energy.
The U.S. response of a lack of concern is just more idiotic posturing, the same that we see in all militaristic countries. They are very worried but refuse to show fear, in an act of defiance. Ask anyone in the NSA and you'll find that they are VERY concerned about Russia. Look who they are hiring in the CIA and NSA, Russian and Chinese speaking Americans. Yes, they are also fighting a war on terror, but there is a hidden battle underneath all of this.
We've returned to the Cold War, like it or not.

| 4. Is this whole country insane! |
|
why can't they see that the fruitcakes are running the country, and the neocons and republicons will follow stupid ass to their deaths. There is no way that any other so called president would get away with the shit they have. When they are done there won't be anything left! They are compounding enemy after enemy against us and they see that no one is going to stop them so they are destroying this country little by little.

I have to agree with you. Our Country is Fruit-cake Nuts , Gonzo-Gone and there is no hope. Lead Paint on toys from China? The people flock to Walmart to buy this crap. Anti-freeze in your toothpaste.. no problem. Poison fish from China? Yum... Yum.. give us more.. and so it goes....while Fox News spews more hate....?
