I wish that we had more reporters like Katie Couric. Say what you will about her, but the reason that Sarah Palin did so poorly in her interview is that Katie Couric did something that no reporter has done for years, asked follow up questions about Palin's answers instead of just moving forward.

Too many reporters today did just what this guy did, they say one thing, the person being interviewed said something completely different, then they move on to the next question. In his defense, he did show some videos and statements, but he put no issues to rest.

It started with the question of the Social Security IOUs, either there is money until 2037 or there is a big box full of IOUs. I am sorry, but that is not an opinion question. Sure, he contradicted her statement, but it is as though every question should have ended with "Well, we may never know for sure, so let's just agree to disagree". The other questions were similar.

In short, this reporter is no Rachel Maddow. Not even close. He did a little bit of homework, as he should have, but if Rachel had done this interview, she would have OWNED Angle with cold hard facts.
