I just emailed the youtube link to a bunch of conservative veteran friends. All are members of Vietnam Veterans of America, the vet group that served as the model for IAVA. Even those who may be Beck fans are familiar with the non-partisan nature of such groups and will recognize how off-base his attack his. A little food for thought like this may not immediately convert Beck fans, but it can help to erode their devotion.

...a college prof and a recently-retired special ed teacher. I'll update if I get feedback from the conservatives. At least, with my subversive approach, I've planted some seeds.

What was amazing to me was that Beck fell for this--he really should have known better. It wouldn't surprise me if the call came from the offices of someplace like Rove's American Crossroads group.

I spent time with two conservative vet friends last night as we drove to see a play in a town nearly two hours away. Both dumped all over Beck and praised IAVA. They also volunteered that they won't listen to Beck and Limbaugh any more (though they both said they liked Limbaugh "10 years ago").

I think you're right--some will refuse to even watch a Maddow clip. In this case, I know that one did watch the clip I sent him; the other may or may not have, but was familiar with the issue.
