a "nice ass" contest. Of course, since she's ALL ass, it wouldn't really be a fair matchup!

I read the story online and burst out laughing, then later in the day read the story again and again burst out laughing.
If indeed the American people elect that women to any elected office, they deserve what they get.

I live in Florida, the state of "morons", don't under estimate these people. They voted a crook for Governor down here.
A tv ad from a car dealer was giving away a free AK-47 with every new car purchased. The far right is dangerously crazy and would easily vote for Palin. I see bumper stickers for her all the time. One bumper sticker I saw was: "I'll keep my freedom, my guns and my money, you keep the change."

|
Hell, she wasn't/isn't qualified to be mayor of Wasilla. Still, if enough stoopids vote for her, she gets the job. Whenever I've said to myself, "Surely, surely this time, no one is THAT stupid," someone does something so jaw-droppingly idiotic that it forces me to reset the bar lower yet.
After all, could an alcoholic, draft-dodging, functionally retarded son of a privileged family ever become President? HE GOT TWO TERMS!

to important political office. Haven't you noticed? Reagan. Schwarzenegger. Jesse Ventura. Sony Bono.
The public feels they know these people since they've watched them on the screen, and most can't discern reality from fiction, anyway. And now FOX has given Palin and a few others long term contracts, providing them with the opportunity to become well-known and household fixtures to a good many of our intellectually challenged fellow "citizens".
Yes, President Palin is not out of the realm of possibility. Like Bush, Palin believes high office to be ceremonial and there's staff to do the real work.

Somehow. Your guess is as good as mine as to HOW . . . I mean, I guess when you have enormous money and a ubiquitous 24-7 propaganda arm fully on your side, and your dad used to be a VP and President, the odds are far better. I'll bet those people are kicking themselves in the ass and only the most sledgehammer-blasted idiotic of idiots would freely admit to missing Bewsh.
The problem with comparing Slap-ass with Bewsh and Reagan is that I'm not convinced she would win over anyone but the grizzled, the uninformed and the TeaHadists (but I repeat myself). She surely wouldn't win fence sitters, Eisenhower-brand conservatives, independents, or libertarians; they all think (correctly) that she's a batshit insane, over-churchy, substance-less, media-created, talking point-barfing loon.

No way, no how. If she was ever in a high office, I would move out of the country, seeking asylum there.

|
"Well, I suppose she could win but the real question is would she leave after two years and turn the keys over to the Vice-President."
"She'll have a decent chance of winning if she's the only candidate running."
"Not if she agrees to debate other candidates."
"Only if she doesn't have to answer tough questions."
"There might be demands to see her high school diploma."

Sarah Palin's so dumb that even if she was twice as smart she'd still be half as dumb. I don't have any respect for someone who just lies every time they get a chance. "Do you read?" Palin: "Oh yeah, I read everything." "What do you like to read?" "Well, you know, just everything." "Like what do you read on a daily basis." "Well I can't think of anything at the moment but I just read all sorts of things." TRANSLATION: She doesn't read.

| 17. She will certainly TRY to run for president |
|
since she won't be able to stand the thought of not being a center of attention for 18 months. But her candidacy will crash and burn, for two reasons.
1, She hates hard work, and doesn't have it in her to do all of the organizing and slogging on the ground that a primary campaign entails. She doesn't have the people skills to put together and hold together an effective organization. Even if she manages to bring in good people, she will drive them away. Remember that she only came in to the McCain ticket a couple of months before the election, and McCain's people were doing all of the heavy lifting (and even they knew she was an impossible to work with dingbat).
2. The Republican establishment will never let her be their candidate. Despite any popular appeal she may have among a certain looney segment of the populace, she is a dead-bang loser in a national election. They will do whatever is necessary to ruin her and to get an old white guy in a dark suit to head the ticket.
I predict that she'll run, do badly in the primaries and debates, drop out, blame the media (and everyone else but herself) for her lack of success, then try stage some sort of "comeback", which will also fizzle, then she'll go back to a cushy, well-paying job as a Faux News mouthpiece.
