| 1. Wow, Cooper owned him. |
|
Cooper seems to be very knowledgeable of the subject. The birthtard just went down the list of birthtard talking points and Cooper had an answer for every one of the them.

But this one seems to be two years behind the rest of the Tea Bag world.
I wonder if he ever looked at any other President's birth certificate. (We know the answer is no!)
This guy singles out Obama because Obama is not only "liberal" but black skinned, with a father from Kenya as well. That's why this guy is stuck on stupid...

| 7. Wow! How do people this ignorant get elected to ANY office, let alone Congress? |
|
It's one thing to get elected to a small village council seat or a school board seat, but for a congressional district have enough people to elect that goober to Congress, there's a high concentration of stupid in that Texas district. He doesn't act like he's smart enough to find his way out of his car.

| 14. Rep. Berman won't give up |
|
I have no doubt that Rep. Berman will continue to repeat the same demonstrably false assertions in the future. It seems that people such as he surround themselves with like-minded individuals who refrain from the level of introspection that provides a necessary reality-check on their beliefs. When they are presented with contradictory facts they cannot dispute, they resort to conspiratorial arguments: if Hawaii's Governor and Health Director certify that the original birth certificate is on file, then they must have been paid off by George Soros or the other left-wing-villain-of-the-week. And I'm sure Mr. Cooper is viewed as part of the conspiracy because he fabricated facts, or selectively edited the interview to show Rep. Berman's comments out of context (or something along those lines).
The lessons we as progressives should take from this is that we should never be afraid to stop and question our beliefs. Does our worldview coincide with the evidence presented? Is there contradictory evidence we need to consider? Mr. Cooper provides an excellent example of being assertive in defense of the truth while remaining civil with his opponent.
