|
I think he's the biggest threat to corporate America. They want us to vote for Hillary, Edwards, or Obama because they think they can 'handle' one of them. Kucinich is doing quite well but I find you have to seek him out. When he speaks on healthcare, bringing home the troops & ending this war, making peace with other countries etc. no doubt, he would bring a REAL change. The election is still a year away and I think we might turn and vote for someone completely different because we've had enough business as usual.

public servant, not owned by the corporations, sounds like. That's something they're not going to see in the other candidates of either party.
No wonder his message is minimized by the corporate media.

That's why I think there's a chance for Kucinich. We might be ready for him at election time a year from now. (If not much much sooner).

| 7. Kucinich Should Be All The Evidence Anyone Needs About The Dem Party |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 09:15 AM by fredrickdouglas
This guy, Kucinich, is so progressive, so in line with popular policies, he has such a story, comes from such humble beginnings...
He would be a cinch to sell to the American public. But they do all that they can to squelch him. They being the Democratic Party. This cycle, where the Republicans simply can't win is a once in a generation moment where the Democrats can't even claim the need to rely on the false strategy of playing the middle that they always use. They could actually run a progressive candidate.
These facts should tell any thinking person all he/she needs to know about the real truth about the Democratic Party. But judging by the comments in the thousands of threads on this site, either this isn't as obvious as one would think or all the talk about the US having been dumbed down is truth.

I've had the same thoughts. The Repubs are so screwed this cycle that it truly is a once in a lifetime opening for a true progressive to capture the nation's imagination. Alas, we don't live in a progressive democracy, we live in a corporatocracy. New Zealand looks better to me all the time.
Oh I forgot...welcome to DU! :bounce:

I meant to say that he would not agree to preemptively invade a nation and follow it with killing and stealing. He believes that every citizen has a Bill of Rights and a Constitution to base their lives on. There, now sorry for the confusion. When I said that he was American that was what I was thinking but I see why that might confuse you. Peace, Kim

His politics are wrong for the Democratic Party
It isn't about his hair or height.
It's about his authentic platform based on democracy and not corporate rule. That's the reason the media and the Democratic Party's big money people won't back him.
Everything else is incidental. Nader isn't short and doesn't have bad hair and they have always hated him too. If you are for the people and not the corporations, the national Democratic Party will not support you.

a miracle should happen, like the American public would somehow grow brains and learn how to use them, and our broken corrupt election system was fixed before 08', and Kucinich was elected he would murdered before he could take the oath of office.
Get a grip folks. This country has been bought and sold long ago by extremely powerful interests that have no interest in a free democratic/republic with fair elections.
Does anyone here really think that someone who would severely limit the profits being made from weapons industry, oil and energy interests, insurance and health care is going to be allowed to become president?
No, no my hopeful friends. Not in this world and certainly not in this country in this election. For the truth of the matter is we don't need another phony so-called representative of the people put in office by rigged elections to protect the real powers behind our so-called government. We need another revolution!

| 18. If a tragedy like that took place, it would get Americans out of their seats. |
|
If America finally saw a person for the people, they would support him and if something then happened to him, I think it would get people in the streets and would lead to more good people in politics in the future. People are disgusted and frustrated with our current government and it would take someone like Dennis Kucinich to turn them around and give them hope.
I didn't know about his upbringing but that just makes me want to vote for him more. People who have been on both sides of the tracks can see both sides, the ones that grew up on only one side only stand for one side because they have no idea.
Go Dennis Kucinich, a true democrat for the people!

the more I'm convinced they'll end up just being more of the same. The only real 'candidate for change' is looking more like Dennis. I'm not sure he really stands a chance given the Democrate power machine but I'm plannig on voting for him.....assuming he is still in the running by the time our primary comes around. I DO hope so.

|
If he is so great ( and I think he is true and means real change ) and most Americans agree with Kucinich with most if not all of the actual issues then go and spread the word about him.
The mass media and establishment want to drown him so don't wait for them or bought up polls to mention him.

Nothing else will give his platform a chance in hell due to the structure of the electoral system.
But the Democrats sure hope Kucinich activists will keep trying to influence the system from within the party. They know its a fool's game.
When will we learn?

What kind of question is that?...."there must be some quality that is not immediately visibile to the rest of us??" I mean, are you some handsome hunk yourself, you ski slope chinned prick? It's just the way he said it, and also the fact that he would bring it up....at Kucinich's expense.
I've always thought of lenno as a smart ass prick, but I have to admit, he is sometimes funny. This time....NOT!

But calling her a 'trophy wife' is simply wrong. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you forgot the sarcasm tag :)
Having met Mrs Kucinich on several occasions, I have to say that she is one of the most authentic, intelligent, insightful, and compassionate women I have ever met. In short, she is the perfect mate for Dennis, and just because she's easy on the eyes does not make her any less so.

if i was not political and didn't really follow the news I would be so moved by this interview. The americain middle class working family well fall for this guy head over heels I advocate him everyday to everyone I meet. After this interview I cannot wait to see what it does for his numbers, his fans are few and far between but everyday their is more, we have a year and we all get behind him and we all tell everyone everyday what an honest person is who is going to make it better for all of us collecivly instead of just the people who can make him more powerfull we can make this happen.
