Obama said the effort was the result of “many months” of hard work. But many on the right also want to give credit to President Bush — who regularly said that getting bin Laden wasn’t his priority. House Majority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) said in a statement, “I commend President Obama who has followed the vigilance of President Bush in bringing Bin Laden to justice.”

| 2. Thanks for that refresher video. That video should be played everytime a repuke decides to attach |
|
this OBL success to Bush. Repukes should be reminded non-stop at exactly what Bush said when asked about capturing OBL back then. He let the whole world know he didn't know OBL's whereabouts and didn't even care and that statement is a matter of historical record and on tape FOREVER!

The wife and I were both trying to come up with what sorta spin the GOP was gonna tie on this event. Considering they've yet to find FAULT with Bin Laden's dismissal, I think this Kantor fantasy's actually pretty tame. Sure it's BS! But youi just wait - the REAL loonieness is yet to show itself.

| 6. Barney Frank much more respectful of Bush than Cantor is of Obama |
|
When asked whether Bush did enough to try to capture or kill Osama, Frank offered an "I don't know" to not claim that Bush was incompetent, incapable or uninterested in taking out Osama. He could have done a Cantor and said all the overtly true claims that Bush didn't want to try, and hadn't succeeded when he did try (in Tora Bora).
At least the Dems aren't so shallow as to resort to twisting history.
Shame on you, Eric Cantor.
