|
will ever confront Rachel Maddow on her own turf, and that includes Rice.
This is why rabid ideologues should never be allowed into power. They completely lack the critical thinking skills that cause them to re evaluate their ideology when things go horribly wrong.
That is what made that last administration the absolute worst in US history.

I agree completely. And remember - ALWAYS REMEMBER - the ideology with any repig isn't so much about a political point or principle.
It's about ways to make money, whether by stealing it from another country in the form of oil etc, or by stealing it from the treasury with rigged gov't contracts etc.
It is always that, no matter what they say.

|
Watch Condi. Listen to Rummy. Then take in Chaney and his kids. Watch as they try and wallpaper over the evil ever-evolving reality they weave. I get dizzy and fuzzy listening to the former administrations obfuscations, deceptions and weirdness.

THAT surprises me--her continued mendacity does not.

Why even have her on TV, unless she is under oath and being tried at the Hague?

I've been too busy to watch and this needed to be seen.
Like I said earlier, Condi Rice is the Ovarian ONE PERCENT SOLUTION. She's so much like Cheney that I have to believe she's really self-loathing because she apparently couldn't get along with him.
These criminals should be perp walked straight to hell.

Thank you Lawrence for a fine interview, and to Rachel for her spot-on insight. Why invade Iraq, and not North Korea or Iran? Answer: To settle a score with the unfinished business of the Gulf War 10 years earlier that saw Daddy Bush fail to storm Baghdad to get Saddam, then be humiliated by him in succeeding years. It wouldn't surprise me if Mama Bush had G.W. promise to settle the score to restore daddy's honor. Anyhow, Li'l Rummy was itching to invade Iraq even before 911, and starting war in Afghanistan was the way to get our foot in the door over there. Once in, G.W. forgot about Osama -- saying it wasn't important to get him anymore, and then all the sudden, out of the blue, getting Saddam was now our primary goal. WTF? Remember how frustrated the Bush cronies were in trying to gather any evidence at all to go into Iraq. Finally they had to use made-up evidence. And Li'l Condi and Li'l Dick were all equally complicit. Meanwhile, the Bush gang kept up the fear pressurizer on anyone who questioned war, making doubters appear un-American -- a good Rove tactic. Getting Iraq's oil and pumping zillions of dollars to private contractors was a big factor, but getting Saddam's scalp for daddy was the biggest thing. Bottom line, even if they haven't learned anything from this, I hope we have and don't give anyone connected to that bunch access to power again.

of the former Bush Administration in insisting what they did was right. And nearly the entire media gives them a pass on 9/11 and Iraq. It's really unbelievable how poorly the media has handled the Bush disaster. We hear 24/7 criticism of Obama over trivia yet seldom hear a word of criticism of the Bush disaster. Events during the Bush Administration, finally and forever, destroyed the American media.

NEVER admit their wrong doing, whether it's the invasion of Iraq or institutionalizing torture and rendition. Condi is not going to say anything that's disloyal to Bush, regardless of what she truly believes. Secondly, it was always my impression that Condi had no real power or voice in what the Bush administration did. I think she was constantly out gunned by Cheney, Rumsfeld, and other Bush advisors who were more experienced and powerful. Bush was literally a puppet with Cheney running a shadow government. Bush was not the sharpest tool in the shed, plus he's an ideologue.

|
that they truly believe that they are brilliant. Smarter by far than the rest of us and possessing knowledge the average American can never grasp. They were and are convinced the their crackpot ideology is correct and they continue to convince the most sheep like among us to trust and believe them.
I still talk to folks who honestly believe the Saddam Hussein was part of the 9/11 plot. The Neo-Con delusion is strong stuff. Rice will never crack....she is a true believer.

Like all Repugs.... she didn't do her job.... because they are all busy REALLY doing something else. Repugs do not do what they say they are gonna do... or say they are doing. Their laws and amendments and committees never seem to be actually about what they say they are about.
Secrets, lies and nothing but contempt for the citizens of this country.

Condi knows how culpable she is; that's why she went on the counterattack on O'Donnell, because the truth makes her very uncomfortable.

| 20. With all respect to Maddow, whom I adore! |
|
I don't think Condi "still believes" anything. She has a carefully crafted set of defenses and answers, from which she will not vary, which have been constructed for her own protection - and she is acutely aware of this. She is treading a very thin line between respect for her past position and going to the Hague. Plus, as she is not a Past President or Vice President - or even Rumsfeld - if it is ever decided that one of the past administration needs to be sacrificed for war crimes, she would be the most likely "lamb." She is already running interference for Bush and Cheney, who are keeping as low a profile as possible (even sending out Laura to make statements).
Nothing new - the best defense is a good offense. Despite the bravado, this is a frightened woman, especially since Obama was able to get bin Laden. Bin Laden's capture destroyed much of their defense, where they could claim how impossible the task was, what their justifications were for many actions, etc. Condi may be a lot of things - most of them vile - but she is not stupid.

When did Rachel say that?
And it is perfectly believable that Condi still thinks she did nothing wrong. She's as nuts as Cheney... but neither are stupid. She is much more of a follower than Cheney and may indeed be the patsy if one is needed. She does have a carefully constructed defense, but that doesn't mean she doesn't believe it.
