Sadly the nation's largest voting block -- seniors and boomers, the vampire generation -- have a multi-decade history demonstrating that they care for nothing and no one but themselves. They love their NAFTA, they love teir shiney bombers, they love blowing the fuck out of everyone, and they REALLY love their entitlements.
What they have never loved, and never accepted, is PAYING for any of it. That's always a job for someone else. In this case that someone else is their kids and grandkids.
In this regard the GOP plan is right up their ally. They get to continue as they have been, enjoying benefits that they KNEW were underfunded, while counting on their kids to suck it up.

That doesn't strike me as selfish.

I work with a woman who just turned 60. She only works for us part-time, highly qualified and competent legal secretary. She's been laid-off 5 times in the last two years. She says it's like that for a lot of her friends the same age. All they can figure is that it costs too much to cover them on the company health plans.

I don't think anyone should envy the boomers --many are not doing all that well, and still helping out kids and taking care of parents.
It's not even a matter of changing. A lot of us saw these hard times coming a long time ago.

you're shouting out GOP talking points here. As regards NAFTA, the actual people opposed NAFTA. only POLS and CORPORATe SHILLS supported NAFTA. We, the people didn't have a vote on NAFTA. except protested in the streets against it. But the policies went through despite massive opposition across the political spectrum. I was in my fourties then. A working wage slave, paying into my Social Security and 401(k) that's now absolutely worthless.
So please dispense with the GOP talking points because it's absolutely full of shite.

Under the Ryan Plan, it would cost seniors 6000 dollars a year more..for health insurance..or approximately 500 a month more out of their disposable income...(and the asshole private insurance companies would be in charge again )
Spread the Word to all
