| TYT: Offensive Black 'Hos' Republican Ad (Herman Cain) |
|
Cain did the voice over for a 2006 political radio ad full of harsh anti-black stereotypes.

the ad was obviously over-the-top ridiculous, and i think just about anyone could see it.
my wish is that cenk would approach his msnbc gig the way he does this one ... it always looks to me that he panders on msnbc -- a little smug, stumbles on his teleprompter, and seems kind of fake in the jokes and jabs, kind of jaded. he might pull more people in if he performed in a more *geniune* way (?) in fact, the more i think about it, the lefties on msnbc nightly are pretty smug and propaganda-ish. i think jon stewart was correct in suggesting that they aren't much different than fox in that regard. this, of course, excludes my girl rachel.
i find myself thinking a lot these days: whatever happened to: g'night, chet ... g'night, dave? GOD KNOWS if we could go back to those days how much better things could be ... fuck the fuckity fuck media fuckheads at fucking fox for taking us here (sorry).
jeebus. put rachel and keith together on a nightly and watch the ratings skyrocket. maybe even pull in some more of the smarter right wingers. anyone around here think that might happen in the future? i know they're pretty tight ...
just one woman's opinion.

I suspect that he's a lot more managed on TV than he is on TYT, where he's his own boss. Jokes, jabs, & the parameters of his questioning and opinion expressing is naturally going to be run through news directors & corporate managers. He has to know how much he'd have to compromise to get that high profile gig. The pay off is whether he ends up with a career that can shape the national conversation before he gets fed up with being muzzled on occasion and micromanaged into advertising-friendly content without showing too much of the silly personality he lets fly on TYT. He's no Keith Olbermann; I think he might just be able to put up with the corporate BS a little longer.
