David Selig, Conservative Commentator, joins Thom Hartmann. Now that she’s running for President - it was only a matter of time before Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann introduced her new tax plan. And like Tim Pawlenty’s tax scheme - Bachmann’s puts the Bush tax cuts on steroids. In order to pay for even more tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires - Bachmann is raising taxes on working families arguing that EVERYONE in America should be paying their fair share of taxes - even those in total poverty or who are disabled. That is - everyone except billionaires who make their money sitting on their butts by the pool collecting dividend checks. Bachmann thinks these people shouldn’t have to pay ANY taxes - so she’s proposing eliminating capital gains taxes altogether - which are already only 15% - far lower than what a janitor might pay. Bachmann’s plan would free 23,000 millionaires and billionaires from having to pay ANY taxes in America - and at the same time she would raise taxes on 250,000 low-income people.

Because they don't have to. Tax laws by their nature amount to social engineering.

recuse herself from voting on them, as well as the majority of both houses of congress. They all have a conflict of interest because most are (multi?) millionaires.
Until people yell loud and long about the conflict of interest, these kinds of tax cuts will be introduced in congress.

Fuck you David Selig, you Goebbels wannabe! I made under 15 G's last year -not even treading water and I didn't qualify for earned income tax credit. I have a friend who made $1200 last year, and his earned income check was about $800. WHOA!!! Stop the presses!!! $800? How massive could this fraud you're talking about be? Is it as massive as $3.2 Billion?
