Bravo Spain. The Occupy Wall Street idea originated in Spain and the General Assembly was taken from them. They have been occupying their city since May.

They have the highest youth unemployment in Europe, over 40%. Their futures stolen from them by a few evil, greedy people who still want more.

But seeing all the beautiful people around the globe today shows that the majority of people in the world are good, compassionate and caring. They want everyone to have access to health care. They care about the poor and the vulnerable We have heard nothing but cold, heartless rhetoric for years here, and they call it 'pragmatic'. I have come to hate that word.

And learned from them about staying and not leaving. I was going to write an OP about that because Spain's movement has been very inspiring and they've been occupying since May.

Not surprising to see those numbers there, which I read were between 3 and 500,000, just in Madrid.

what happens when someone acknowledges America isn't perfect. they return the favor. Our economy is dependent on others and vice versa. This isn't a left movement nor a right movement. But it is a movement. Especially if I see signs for OWS with Don't tread on me in the back but they are in support of OWS. Likely former Tea Party members who woke up... Be like Dark City. When I was in college (back in the Stone Age), one English professor was a bit, shall we say... "dotty"? I, however, being a bit dotty myself, loved him. He spent a great amount of time talking about Marshall McLuhan and "the global village" that the world was becoming, and he talked a lot about evolving consciousness on a global scale and the wonders that could bring into being.

I've thought about my old professor a lot in recent months, and I hope he's still alive and well to see our evolving global consciousness taking root in global action.

There are great struggles ahead, because TPTB will never let go willingly or easily. So much could go wrong, but what we've seen happening around the world today will, I think, inspire many, help those on the front lines to be tenacious and strong, and keep all of us working unceasingly towards human dignity, freedom, equality, and social justice for everyone.
