Politics makes strange bedfellows.

Like Audit of the fed which was written by Senior Paul, supported by socialist and which is paying massive dividends now. Wish they can work their magic on this one but am not holding out too much hope, it will get more the the required yea votes to overcome an Obama veto if at all he vetos it.

Most people still think it was a success. They claim we made some profit and every cent has been paid off. Yes, TARP was a big wealth transer, a huge tax increase on the poor and give away to wall street no matter what the suckers here on DU tell u.

| 14. I think we are beyond the tipping point. This bill just makes this ultimate power |
|
of the President official. Bush set the precedent and the courts backed him up. The government can arrest anyone as a terrorist suspect and detain them indefinitely without due process. The genie is out of the bottle.
OWS watch out.

| 4. Amazing how many posts praising GOPers. Can't escape the GOP media, it's all we've got. |
|
Questions need to be asked about Dems supporting the Patriot Act, but overall, the Tea Party/GOP officials are not friends of anyone but their corporate masters, and that especially includes Rand Paul who has more positions change the weather does.
We have another thread praising another GOP Tea Party official for this same reason and pointing the finger at Dems as if this is the only issue, when it isn't.
Probably the only reason they are against it is their donors aren't getting enough green. Rand already backed off his campaign promises to keep those defense and security contracts for his state.
Oh, BTW, screw the GOP and the Tea Party.

| 13. I think you missed the point of the post. It wasnt to praise the GOP but to show the failure of |
|
the Democratic Party to save us from this extreme violation of our Constitution. Granted the GOP wants to scrap the Constitution but apparently do does the Democratic Party.
Why are you trying to distract from this tremendously important issue by trying to shift focus to the GOP? We know the GOP is our enemy. But apparently Obama and the Senate Democrats are also attacking our Constitution. Which is the more important story?

I even wrote him an e-mail thanking him. I stated that I'm a far-left progressive and very seldom find myself in agreement with him, but on this one, he's dead right. I said John McCain, of all people, should recognize the dangers inherent in indefinite detention without charges or trial, and that it made my blood run cold to think that there are senators who believe this is a good idea.
Like I said, I don't agree with him on much, but I felt compelled to give him an "attaboy" on this.
