is an aspie and I wouldn't have him any other way. I do NOT consider him to have a "monster" inside of him. The REAL monster are those in society in general who refuse to appreciate the uniqueness of aspies, their original and creative contributions, and who refuse to accept them as they are and demand what I term "neuroconformity." THOSE are the REAL "monsters."

The links posted go to a series of very thoughtful articles about how misdiagnosis and profit-driven misprescription caused the author's otherwise charming and sensitive son to behave violently. Thanks, kickysnana.

...and this article was particularly powerful.
This is not an article about "how she wishes her autistic son was "normal" but I peak at this particular young man's very difficult problems. He isn't just showing behavioral issues but violence, hence the Monster.
Very moving. All her articles are.
