Moreover the President has obviously been avoiding a number of controversial issues because of the economic situation and the need to get the health care bill passed.

I suspect that we are going to see a very aggresive SOTU message that will undermine much of what the lunatics, that are already talking about Presidential primaries, say about the President.

by the hyperbole and if people don't stand up to speak the truth in GD and GDP then there will be a loss of reason among a large group.

It's the same battle we fight against the MSM but now it's with members who post misleading articles about important issues. Most of the people posting the trash really have no skill in rational, constructive arguments. The Democratic strategy is to concentrate on achievements and concentrate on paths for reasonable change.

When you come back (and you will, or I will hunt you down and make threatening gestures whilst doing ballet in my undershorts) look upon it in the same pragmatic fashion that informs your political ideology.

None of us, that I know of, are satisfied with the way things are in this country. But rather than bitch and moan and scream and holler and whine, we try to have a little patience and, as long as we know our President isn't actively making things worse, give him a little room to get things done. Our part in that is to do what little bit we can as individuals and not try to take on the whole burden ourselves, nor to relinquish our part in the effort.

And we can't expect to do anymore here than our own, little part.

What's going on with DU and pieces of the blogosphere right now is really just noise. The noise is, I firmly believe, one impetus behind getting HCR done first because everyone with a brain knew it would be controversial no matter your ideology. It would not satisfy anyone completely, nor was it even meant to do so. That out of the way, Obama can tackle some meaty subjects in which he is going to come out looking like a flipping genius.

The home team gets to bat last.

And certain loudmouths on DU will still be going off on this or that. They always have. There's a person who got involved sniping at me not long ago, and I took the time to check him out. He joined shortly after Obama was inaugurated, and his *first post* was a slam against Obama. He has thousands of posts, and I have yet to find one positive comment. He gets a lot of people worked up over nothing and is particularly aware of those of us who explicitly refuse to play his game. So, he comes after us trying to bait us into doing something stupid.

He'll still be here next year and the next, in one form or another, but he's going to look more and more ridiculous as time goes by.

And you'll be fine, having done your individual part in providing him the context to make himself look ridiculous.

It's sheer madness, and it's by design. This board has slowly been taken over by a combination of pissed off primary holdovers, teabaggers, Greens & Ron Paul enthusiasts.

Since the goal of the board is no longer to support Democrats and the Democratic Party, I really think the admins should reconsider the name. We have posters actually advocating the demise of the party and it's leader. I don't call that support.
