Instead of ingorning the posts that violate those rules or rising to the flamebait (that can best describe those types of posts), I think we might help improve the board and put the Democrat back in DU by just alerting on them and let help the moderators clean the place up. I am willing to accept that the moderators still enforce the rules, and I am willing to help reclaim the board by alerting on the bad posts.

11. That's my dilemma, too. The thing is, we're obviously in the minority here.

We're the ones who are out of step. It's just a fact. DU now undermines the Democratic Party and the President. We've been hanging on, hoping things would change for the better but it's only gotten worse.

5. Try quoting the exact rule violated

Sometimes it takes time before they get their emails too - as much as a couple of hours that I've seen. Also, it probably needs to be a blatant violation when it comes to the support Dems thing - and often a pattern of repeated behavior would likely be required. Of course, more people alerting doesn't hurt - so don't stop doing it. To be honest, I haven't alerted on the 'support Dems' rule. I know that the rules are more relaxed between election cycles, and being in power is also a new experience for DU that we're still adapting too. Based on past cycles and some comments from Skinner over the holidays, there will be a point where the 'I'm not voting for Dems, unless...' stuff will be seen as unproductive. Until then, I would advise hiding threads that bother you.

6. I don't alert on the "support Dems" rule.

I alert on anything that remotely approaches "Obama = Bush" and the like, and they don't even get pulled. I shouldn't have to explain to the admins what rule that breaks.

7. I think they are very busy at times

It doesn't hurt to point out the rule you think is violated and quoting exact language to make it easier for them. 'Obama = Bush' falls under the same scenario I was describing where, unless it's really blatant, people are allowed to vent their frustration - at least until the election season starts heating up.

10. I just went back and read a poster from yesterday

that compared Barack to Cheney and so on and on. This was on one thread. I know they were alerted on but I have taken them off ignore so I can do the quote thing. I had went to the thread to see a video of Obama and was shocked by the bile this person posted and more shocked that it was left untouched by monitors. :shrug:

Edited to note that he compared Obama supporters to the Nazi when we said good things about Obama. We will see what is done with this alert. My guess is nothing.
