It is now going on the 3rd day since the Earthquake in Haiti and I have yet to see a thread on the front page blaming Obama...Maybe there is hope for the sanity of DU? :sarcasm:

done it now! The trolls come to BOG and troll around to find out what we're up to. They don't like it because we don't engage in the anti-Obama crap they post on GD and GDP. One day I think there is hope. The next day it's the same old song.

| 3. Yeah, it was the Public Option thingy that set it off... |
|
And from that point on it was almost like a contest to see who find anything to blame on Obama! It got so absurd so fast!
I was and am a strong supporter of having a Public Option or even a single payer system where everyone buys into a gov policy for basic coverage...And even allowing private insurance to sell supplemental policies to those who want extra benefits. The insurance companies could still make money and everyone would be covered. However, the political climate is not there right now. I think Obama has gotten us further than any other POTUS I just hope he gets to sign some form of legislation. Then we can push for more later. baby steps!!!

| 5. I don't know what people expect from the president: |
|
He didn't write the health care bill and he can't make anyone vote the way he thinks they should vote. They act as if the president wouldn't sign the bill for single payer or public option. They don't have 60 votes, what is he suppose to do? As for the blue dog Democrats who don't want SP/PO, who voted for them? Let's be honest, we did. Democrats don't want the president telling them what to do. The Clinton's tried and it didn't work. Here's an example, Harry Reid, "I don't work for President Obama". IMO, If Obama started out muscling in on their turf the end would have been at the beginning.

| 4. Ah, but Obama had the gall to ask Bush Junior to fundraise for Haiti. So it's gearing up. |

It's like they are so consumed with hatred they have no room left in their hearts for compassion. Millions are in need and no matter what sort of rotter Bush is and was, he has influence over Republicans and their fat wallets. By tapping Bush the relief efforts become bipartisan and more aid goes to those that desperately need it. People are dying and some people play at their usual political games like it doesn't even matter.

That has to come a time where something brings people together for good. I honestly think some have lost all rational thought here on DU. But that is just me.

Or that he has someone besides the military/four star general in charge of the emergency relief although he does have a four star general in co-charge of the operation. Because these are things I have heard from idiots on the boob tube and read elsewhere and figured the people here would have also heard it and ran with the idiocy. I don't go over to the other parts of DU so I wouldn't know.

|
"if he wasn't a warmongering President just think of all of the military forces he could use to really help in Haiti".
its beyond sickening.
