My quick view on Martha Coakley

I don't know much about her but if she loses, I think it's going to be for the following reasons:

The economy-the unemployment rate in Mass. was 8.3% in November. December figures will be released later this month.

She's possibly a poor candidate who ran a less then stellar campaign.

The Republicans and the more conservative Independents are fired up. They didn't much care for Ted Kennedy and certainly feel no love for President Obama. They see this as a chance to score a major victory.

As stated, I don't know much about the candidate and am using info gleaned from various threads and posts in GD and GDP.

3. I like your analysis

-also there is no other race, so all of the GOP money/time can be put into this.

-the Rs know that if they win, they can permanently block PO's agenda including health care, but if they lose, health care is going through.

-if the Rs win, they can spin it into a harbinger of things to come in November and further demoralize the Dems.

6. It would appear that some Dems want her to lose

so that the current health care bill has less of a chance of passing.

What the hell is wrong with people?
