and trying to reason with people who are dedicated to bringing down the Democratic party and liberalism.
I am not going to be drawn into a fight either that ends up breaking DU rules on my part to get me booted out.
There have been at least three instances this last week. If I had responded the way that they had attacked me, I would have been TS'd so fast.
I am not falling for it.
I know it when I see it.. and it is going on ignore. They are not taking up one more inch of space in my world.
There is a line in the sand with me, and it has been crossed.

| 2. Honestly I hate alerting in my own OPS, because I really do believe in |

idea exchange, and people can disagree with me all day. I will alert in someones elses op, but I do not in my own.
But there has been three instances, where it was long beyond a disagreement with ideas, but a personal attack, continual to try and get me to lose my cool so much that I would say something that got me booted.
It is bad, and usually I would not give them the time of day and just leave, but I will NOT be chased out.
I will leave but on my own when I am good and ready, and not when some poser from the right tries to get me booted.

| 3. That's one reason not to put them on ignore |
|
If ignored we don't know what they are saying.

| 5. Precisely. And you'd better believe it that THEY do not have US on ignore. |
|
And their little alert fingers must be getting arthritic by now.

| 7. Thanks for catching me just in time ~ no more ignores ~ alerts |
|
I can't recall seeing any of my alerts make a difference but at least it allows me to display my concerns to the Mods.
They don't get to see my ignore button. : )

Some of the major ones I have have been alerted on and they are still here. I guess they know not to go over a certain line. Anyway, it drives them crazy if they figure out they are on ignore. They WANT/NEED to be heard!!

"live to fight another day" is probably a good motto these days.

| 6. I agree - promote the reasonable posters and 'overlook' the troublemakers |
|
Once you get right down to it with a person willing to argue the points - the differences are few and the 'alternate' solutions actually offered usually have little meat on the bones. Good idea to ignore the provocations and keep with the facts. I'm not saying that I never fall prey to a provocation, just that, like you are saying, I try to stay on the up-and-up and let others break the rules (everybody bends them a little bit.)

| 11. You've been doing a fantastic job and I like what you said here - remember... |
|
just as it is in real life, you have the power choose not to engage the ones that show disrespect (and at this point, that number is high). You and others have tried to open eyes and hearts in GDP and hopefully, you have opened some with your well reasoned posts. Those that remain closed to reconsidering or softening their stance are lost in the abyss of hatred. It is an entirely different game for them now. They are against other DUers more than they are against those that would tear this country to shreds.
I used to have great respect for many of those people and it saddens me to see them go into the namecalling gutter when they have nothing else.
