President Obama stopped at Smittys Place in Elyria OH, a sportsbar and restaurant started by Mr. George Smith 75 years ago that is known as much for its famous Smitty Burger as it is for its cheerful atmosphere, living up to its slogan, “Where Friends Meet.”
In the bar, he met 98-year-old Charles Raynor, digging into a plate of fries. “I am just pleased to see Charlie is still eating fries at 98,” and posed with Raynor for photographs.
He bought lunch for Shawn Hatcher, who was celebrating his 42nd birthday. Told the order was chili, Obama said “A bowl of Chili I can afford.”
Jeff King, an electrician at Lorain County Transportation told the President he was working on a project funded by the stimulus package to which Obama replied that he was glad things are happening.

And a short clip of the motorcade caught by a bystander.
