I have a couple of questions about Game Change. Is there anything in it about Obama?
I have no interest in reading it. Halperin is a jerk IMHO. But in listening to all the gossip about it it seems to me Edwards and Palin were trashed and since they seem like easy targets right now, nothing too daring. And my gut reaction is that had there been any dope on Obama or Michelle I'd of heard about it by now (what with the MSM wanting to trash Obama it seems).

So, My questions:

Is there anything bad about Obama and it wasn't reported?

Why isn't there anything bad about Obama?

Is it because they couldn't get anyone to serve up the dirt (message control) or is he really as squeaky clean as he appears? Or were the authors afraid of trashing him? God knows Halperin has in the past but I read a quote from Halperin recently where he said Obama has had a great year, has done a good job. (He did add that Obama's problem is he just can't stir the masses...yeah right.) So, I'm wondering, did Halperin change his mind about Obama in the course of writing the book?

1. As Chris Rock says, "they found him in a cave! He don't even
owe nobody $20.00!" Squeaky clean, my friend!

8. I wonder if that's why Halperin is not trashing him 24/7
as he did before. Maybe while researching to book he learned Obama was the real deal and he hasn't figured out how to trash him now.

Give him time.

2. Barack & Michelle are exactly as portrayed
or, the their public image is the closest to their real relationship, is how the book put it. The Edwards were least like their public image. Obama is absolutely happiest with Michelle and the girls and makes no bones about it. He also wasn't real thrilled with campaigning, I read that somewhere recently, maybe not a quote from Game Change. He prefers wonky policy stuff. I think another campaign book is coming out pretty soon, by an advisor of some sort I think.

That's all I can recall from that book, or any campaign source, of late.

But really, aren't most of us pretty close to being as clean as he is. How interesting is your past? We owe some bills? Wowzer.

Now you can even pose nude and get elected.

12. Silly me..I thought Edwards was
Edited on Mon Jan-25-10 06:29 PM by Cha
like his image until I was on vacation in Georgia in August 2008 and he came on tv in between all those Olympic games and made a confession. I couldn't believe! Know what I thought of? All those obnoxious supporters of his on DU that got served pizza and those hating on Obama who were still around. Edwards was so pure and Obama was trash..according to them and I always knew they full of it.

I could never run for Public Office if I wanted to..not all of us has had their lives together all the time like the Obamas. Good for you!

'Course Obama told in his book what he did experiment with and you know how those hypocrites ran with that.

11. yes, I read it. No "scoops" and like what I suspected about Game Change
the Obama's are exactly what you'd expect. . . wonderful. It's mostly a retelling of the election which, you'll remember, was a pretty exciting year.

Now that I think about it, we counted Obama out so many times during late 2007 and all of 2008 then he did something brilliant. The Hillary supporters were out in force on DU each time to tell us he couldn't win but I don't remember the attacks being as personal against him.

I just ventured over to GD for a few minutes and decided I don't like some of my democratic "friends".
