| I've found that it's some of the most liberal Democrats who are spineless when the chips are down. |
|
Like Russ Feingold.
We like to bitch and moan about the blue dogs and Pres. Obama - but it's not like the liberal Democrats are doing much better. They cave just as easily on important issues.

| 3. I'll always remember him during Clinton's impeachment |
|
seriously "considering" the articles for impeachment while Sen. Kohl ridiculed the entire undertaking on the Senate floor.
Are you referring to the constitutional amendment re corporate contributions he's nixing?

| 7. I agree I don't like the way Feingold folded like a cheap tent over the Supreme Courts |
|
horrible new laws. He should have been the man leading the charge against injustice, instead he just quietly slinked away with his tail between his legs.

| 9. Feingold doesn't fold. He operates from a set of core principles. |
|
Kinda like the ACLU arguing that even Nazis have the right to march and assemble peacefully.

| 8. I wonder why he did that |
|
I figured he had the most "balls" of anyone since he was the only Sen. to vote No on the Patriot Act.
He came from a liberal enough state, but even so.
It ticks me off when people go on about how Bush "got all he wanted." It wasn't because he had a sterner "spine" it was 911. Using 911 at every turn for every argument.

| 10. Sad, ain't it? I wonder how long it would take for Underground heroes... |
|
like Feingold, Kucinich & Sanders to become demonized from the left if they actually were elected to the WH? Not long, I'm betting. There are factions on the left who are as ideological and childlike in their naievete as the teabaggers. They operate on pure idealism and emotion, without regard for process at all.
I guess Bush was right about one thing, it really would be easier if the presidency was a dictatorship, depending on who the president is.
