It seems to me that the mods here will pretty much delete any post with some derogatory comment if you alert and give them a reasonable request.

This seems to me to be an improvement of sorts. At least it is consistent and predictable, and also has a modicum of impartiality. I can live with it, although it seems to be a little silly.

I wish I could figure out a way to be more mature altogether. Arguing with these people is pointless.

Anyone who's likely to argue with you has their mind made up (just as you likely will, nothing wrong with that) and it's a waste of everyone's time and energy to debate a point when neither side is gonna give.

Ignore the anti-Obama threads .... kick the positive ones .... if you post a positive OP about the Obama WH, do so knowing that someone is likely going to disagree, but there are more people who support the President on DU than who dont (notice the recs?) .... post the OP and get out ... if someone wants to argue, ignore them.

And then spend the BULK of your time and energy calling Congress. :)

9. Still having trouble there myself

The poll I posted ended up showing that only 17% approved of DUers being gleeful over Republican victories. I know that's not scientific but it is an indication that our p.o.v. predominates, despite all of the nasty rhetoric we encounter.

So I still have to wonder why the administration here tolerates so much of that nastiness?

10. I've actually been avoiding political sites as much as possible lately.

My star here expires on the 19th so I've been here lately to decide whether or not to donate again. The current thread about the US in Haiti was the deciding factor for me. (In addition to the fact that my husband and I gave so much to Haiti that I won't even be able to get a couple of prescription refills until the end of this month. And don't ask me what we did for Valentine's Day.)
