| Marcia Angell on Bill Moyers show |
|
In one segment she says the current efforts at health care reform should be scrapped and things will get so bad that people will make sure the government comes back with a better bill (single payer) immediately.
Then in the next segment she says that if the bill passes that things will get so bad that no one will want to try reform again for another 16 years.
Two opposing views in the same interview. Of course Bill Moyers sits there looking serious and doesn't challenge that inconsistency.
It pains me to hear "liberals" spinning like this. I don't want our side to be a mirror image of the right wing.

| 1. Guess she didn't think |

people would pay that close attention.
Anyway, I'm trusting the Admin on this..They want to get it right for our Nation with what they can work with..not some idealogical Utopian Dream.

| 2. I took it to mean we should stop trying to pass healthcare reform now |
|
Then, when an overwhelming majority of people are suffering 10, 20 years down the line, it will be easier to pass. If we keep pushing healthcare reform now, it will fix the system just enough so that we don't get single payer.
It's not a view I subscribe to (as someone without insurance) but it is a view that I have heard before.
