For the record, I treasure the BOG. It provides delightfully welcome respite from the unrelenting snipefest that typifies conversation elsewhere. Yes, it gets frustrating when disputes get ugly; like those not in cyberspace I'm free to leave the room, I don't have to stay and play. At least in the BOG we tend to be a bit more civil toward one another.

In the main, I still prefer DU above the other blogs I visit. We are a rambunctious bunch, to be sure. But compared to, say, the comments boards on my local newspaper's site, this place is paradise. DU is the first place I come to when I need to find a citation for a quote, and it's a terrific access to information unsullied by rightwing manipulation. Several DUers have taken the time and trouble to gently guide me to more accurate perceptions, and I like to think I've returned the favor now and then.

For what it's worth, thanks DU. And special thanks for the denizens of the BOG. There's no place like home.

After I donate to DU I just might donate to the Stuff site. I'll have to read more about the faith and teenagers part, but it just might be something that even my teabagger fundamentalist sisters would like. The environment is the only thing we even partially agree on and I'm always looking for ways to find common ground.

9. That really sucks. Not too long ago I had my credit card # stolen

from a site I had done business with 7 years ago. So I know it can be really frustrating. I'll keep you in my thoughts. :hug:

And every once in a while there is a spirited defense of the President.

A post that indicts the President for homophobia because one of the physicists that is trying to close the leak is actually brought a lot of folks out to defend the President.
