| Really, I am about to give up |
|
sadly this place that I have read nightly and donated to every time is no longer a place with kindred spirits
I really don't think I can do it any longer

I take it a day at a time. Sometimes I just have to hit that X and take a break.

I'm learning to read this site as a running soap opera and not to take any of it seriously.
I used to learn things on DU. Now it's just a farce. Sit back and enjoy it and don't take it personally.

| 6. Honestly, it is kind of fascinating watching the whole drama of |
|
it all play out on the Internet. I am really considering doing a conference paper on it. I lay out the soap opera of it for my friends in the office about twice a day. My husband is involved in the yoyoing community and the same drama exists -- cliques, secret boards, rumors, Facebook battles etc... and politics is about 100x more heartburn inducing than yoyoing. Internet communities are fascinating.
Most Dems support the President, that is the reality. Take it all with a grain of salt and keep focusing on making change in your community.

Same shit goes back to BBS boards back when Compuserve allowed you to dial a local number and then from there, dial up any BBS number in 25 different cities.

| 8. I'm also shocked at how some DU'ers have been absolutley |
|
vicious to our President. For God sakes, he's a DEMOCRAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Often times I think many of these people are trolls. It's also shocking to me that the Administrators have let it come to this.

| 9. I think Bush gave a false sense of unity |
|
Without a common enemy to unify DU, the differences amongst the members become more pronounced. At least that is my guess as I've only been here since very early 2008. While I don't spend much time in GD and GDP anymore, I have found several other forums were there are interesting and informative discussions taking place.
