is Skinner's clarification of standing rules for civil behavior stirring up more of a hornets nest than they deserve.
To me the new rules make simple sense and are sorely needed and are aimed at doing nothing more than restoring civility and reinforcing the fact that DU exists to support the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates and office holders. I believe that in just the two threads on the subject that I am aware of there are in excess of 2000 posts. That's is some serious angst.

| 1. It really seems to me there are those of the opinion that the -- |

of your post but if you mean do you have to donate to recommend in BOG the answer is Rec do not work (as I understand it) in the "groups".
You cannot post in a group unless you donate, if I understand the rules correctly. That is what prompted me to donate again after a long hiatus. BOG was the only place I found where I felt safe posting anymore.

| 4. I think that in order to rec, you just need to be a member. |
|
Not necessarily one with a donor star.
Visitors can't (un)rec, though they can see the number of recs an OP has.
