22. Hello, yourself, and hello to everyone else. This is my first post on the BOG.

And though I've disagreed with some of his moves, I am a HUGE supporter of my current President. I think he's unquestionably better than any since Johnson, and in a couple years (if'n we get out of Iraq and Afghanistan), I think I'll probably be able to historically consider him better than LBJ.

To be honest, though, I think I would disagree with some of the President's moves regardless of who the President is! Being a liberal I form my own opinions; the big ego goes with the big brain. What it comes down to, really, is a matter of trust. Politics, please always recall, is emotional. Do I trust this guy? Well, actually, yes. I kinda do. Without reservation, implicitly? Um, no, but I wouldn't trust anyone I never met without some reservation. Only a fool trusts implicitly beyond a small circle. The fact that I feel like I can trust him even a little puts him head and shoulders above anyone since Carter.

The fact that government is actually accomplishing things again is impressive all by itself, really. See my signature: I am able to make the argument that our government is not an awful thing, that in fact it's a good thing. The longer Barack Obama is my President, the more successful this argument will be. Barack Obama knows what I know, that politics is emotional and that government needs to be rational. He has tried very hard to separate the two. I love the guy.

And thus I dive into the BOG. Hope the water isn't as murky here as in GD or GD-P. :)

you around the board..thank you for your support. Nobody thinks the President is perfect around here. Personally, I'm enjoying the beauty of having a President who lives in reality and is giving it everything he's got to turn around the marauding of the bushcheney years while building a strong foundation to insure future generations will have a healthy Planet and a thriving Democratic country.
