| My God, are we STILL on this??! |
|
A THOUSAND dead in Pakistani floods. And apparently the Taliban thinks the wonders of nature are not enough and are going out of their way to contribute to the misery of the Pakistanis.
Primaries are happening in parts of the country.
There is a growing chance that the first female Prime Minister of Australia may be getting her butt handed to her in the country's election this month.
A white man has finally been arrested after running around the country stabbing and killing black men since MARCH apparently and I'm just hearing about this for the first time yesterday.
And yet, what is the issue of the day among the most self-congratulatory and yet most self-pitying group of people I have EVER encountered in my entire life??? Once again, ROBERT GIBBS. :eyes: :banghead: :eyes:
And of course, even though it was Gibbs that made the comment, you know that it was really Obama who said them, right? Even though I thought Obama was Rahm's puppet?? And once again, even though all Obama does is "spout words" to hear these idiots tell it, somehow the "just words" from Gibbs' mouth has caused them such EXCRUCIATING pain that they have to whelp and scream about it for what is this -- day number FOUR now?? Who the hell can keep up?? And with the growing number of daily hysterics such as this, it's no damn wonder why so many don't even have the slightest bit of interest in trying.

You give Duers a lot of credit for taking issues seriously.
I pretty much just come here for laughs these days.

It is so apparent that so much of this is so phony. The people who are exactly the ones that Robert Gibbs was referring to are loving this foolishness. They get to pretend to have a battle with the White House while building up their reputations (not to mention their coffers) all the while Obama polls at 90% support from liberals. If that is not indicative of some serious political schizophrenia then I truly don't know what is.
Adding to the Bizarro-ness of this whole thing is the people at the bottom of the barrel that think that Gibbs was talking about them when he made that comment (he wasn't) who are now going out of their way to protect the ones that he actually WAS referring to. I'm guessing that they've chosen to do this because they feel more loyalty towards the millionaires who play the left on tv and in movies rather than the millionaires who actually represent the left politically. This whole thing is so pointless.

What I was trying to say, in a round about way, is that you're much nicer than me in even bothering to critique their insincere behavior.

it's like when Palin tried to claim Obama was calling her a pig with the lipstick on a pig comments.
some people like to twist things around to make themselves appear as victims. they stick to it and go on and on about it.
it's not really about issues for them.

so much of it is manufactured. Taking so much said, at some personal affront seems to lack sincerety...and at least for me, indicates a serious lack at reality. I have no use for self aggrandized martyrs either IRL or at DU.

as into politics or follow as closely as i do.
but even those who are very involved usually do not follow this stuff. they are too busy doing work on the ground, making phone calls, etc.
the political world of internet and cable tv is a lot different from what is going on among most voters.

| 17. Yep. Meanwhile Colorado has an bonafide tea party candidate for Senate |
|
who is UP in the polls against Michael Bennet. But we can't talk about that "out there" because Bennet was backed by Obama against the primary challenger.
On Democratic Undergraound we cannot even get to work for Democratic candidates because they were backed by the Democratic POTUS. Think about that for a minute.

|
because Obama supported Bennet. Can you believe it? So we might get a teabagger Senator. This is truly dangerous and frightening. The man is insane.
Romanoff did the right thing and held a unity rally with Bennet but it might not do any good with all the Obama hate going on. Hopefully the Colorado DUers who were for Romanoff aren't representative of Romanoff supporters as a whole.
I'm going to a Bennet town hall soon, just a couple of miles from my house and I'll be working for him pretty much every day after that since I don't have to work anymore. That's how scared I am of Buck. I figure I can put in at leat 4 hours a day and maybe more. Whatever it takes.

Good on Romanoff for having the rally. I really think that the DU hate is not typical. Real D's support the ticket even if the candidate isn't your favorite cup of tea. Thanks for working hard. I have joined a small group here in Nebraska...this place is red hell. I couldn't see myself stomping for Nelson even though he comes through on the big items. After living in Blue Illinois, and Blue Michigan, this has been like moving to another planet. :scared:

| 22. It's a shame. I noticed a few days ago in GD that someone was trying to break the din |
|
by talking about a very troubling election result and was castigating members here for falling ONCE AGAIN for the Numbskullery of the Day instead of the issues. Of course he was shouted down.
No one can tell me that this isn't deliberate.

| 25. ICAM. I think some people are invested in the idea that in order to |
|
make things better things have to get a lot worse. That means rejection of the Democratic Party, encouraging low voter turnout, no donations, etc., to Obama and OFA.
We see that here - people saying that they either won't vote or will write in another candidate. People refusing to donate to the Dem Party or to the DSCC and telling other people to do the same. Lots of people saying they've removed themselves from the Obama mailing list and from the OFA mailing list and telling others to do the same.
And, if a candidate is automatically rejected because Obama backs him or her, where does that leave us?

I've even perceived you as cute in the past.
This OP was written two days ago. I have largely stayed out of the conversation about Gibbs on the big boards, but if folks still want to contribute to a conversation that I started two days ago, I'm happy to respond. But I've pretty much said my peace about the issue and am only responding to those who see my OP and comment now. Even those who are late to the party with nothing to say -- such as yourself. :)
