I have a problem about the Plame case

In Congressional testimony Issa accused Joe Wilson and his wife Valerie of perjury. This accusation was a matter of public record and was left unchallenged. Why? Is there substance to it or ??? Why did no one ask for official charges to be filed or a public apology from Issa? Because no one objected to his accusation I wonder if there is something to it..If not why would they allow it to stand, especially in the official Congressional testimony? It would be one thing if this was stated by Limbaugh or such but it was in official Congressional testimony.. Something doesn't ring true here...

That would be unusual. I think perhaps Issa was questioning somebody else under oath, Mrs. Wilson, for example, and took the opportunity to make some false accusations to further the righwing bullshit campaign. I think he can and did say whatever he felt like saying without any danger of perjury charges.

Have you bothered to check your facts? I did, and you are simply wrong on the facts. Wilson immediately and forcefully objected to Issa's smear. Conyers dismissed him as a stooge. Issa stormed out.

Something to it? Well her testimony did conflict with the Senate Report of Pre-war Intelligence on Iraq. Republicans like to point that out, that a "bipartisan Select Committee report" found that Valerie was the reason Joe was sent to Niger

While it was in the report it was not in the findings of it, it was not bipartisan, it was not a majority finding.It was in the "additional views" section.

It was a view of three senators...a very partisan minority...Pat Roberts (R-KS), joined by Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Christopher Bond (R-MO).

Republicans keep using that as proof their accusation is true.

Something to it? She wrote a memo. They use that as proof. Her boss says he asked her to write it and there was much other evidence to disprove that minority view.

I'm not sure why Issa's accusations were not responded to on the record this time but they have been addressed many times.
