Interesting Car Crash Test Videos and Ratings

The following site has videos of many vehicle crash tests, organized by year and type of vehicle. What I found particularly interesting is that it clearly shows the benefits of side air bags. If you watch closely, you will see colors where the crash test dummies hit the side air bags.

Here are the ratings of various cars from the Insurance Industry. These tests are much more comprehensive than the Federal Government tests, so the ratings are more meaningful.

Here is the infamous video of the new import car from China. There are allegations that the car was tampered with by the Russian car company that did the test.

Here is a video by a responsible German testing agency of a mid-sized Chinese-built car. This one did have airbags. The driver probably would have been killed in a 40 mph crash.

Here is a compilation video of various crash tests. It shows what happens when a smart car hits a full size Mercedes (the smart car bounces all over the place), when a car drives behind a jet airliner (it is blown across the runway), and when a full sized volvo wagon rolls over 5 times (it stays intact).
